Weights and Firearms always make for a fun range day.
You will need an olympic barbell, a hex bar, and at least 225 lbs of plates. (Four 45lb Plates)
Deadlift to Handgun: 225lbs for males, 135lbs for females
This drill will test your overall endurance as well as your handgun marksmanship under stress. This drill will consist of a total of 15 reps of deadlift. As well as about 600 yards of jogging, running, or walking. You will perform a pyramid with your lift and shooting. You will start at the 85- or 100-yard line and perform 5 deadlifts then move up to the 15-yard line to your handgun. You will put 5 rounds on a steel plate or a 4-inch circle. You will then move back towards your starting point at the 85- or 100-yard line. Then perform 4 deadlifts, then move to the 15-yard line and put 4 rounds on a steel target or 4-inch circle. You will repeat until you get down to 1 rep.
Row to your Rifle: 135lbs for males, 45lbs for females
This drill will test your overall endurance as well as your rifle marksmanship under stress. This drill will consist of a total of 15 reps of bent over rows. As well as about 600 yards of jogging, running, or walking. You will perform a pyramid with your lift and shooting. You will start at the 0- or 15-yard line and perform 5 reps of bent over rows then move up to the 85- or 100-yard line to your rifle. You will put 5 rounds on a steel plate or a 6-inch circle. You will then move back towards your starting point at the 0- or 15-yard line. Then perform 4 bent over rows, then move to the 85- or 100-yard line and put 4 rounds on a steel target or 6-inch circle. You will repeat until you get down to 1 rep.
Farmer Carry to Freedom: 135lbs for males, 45lbs or hex bar for females
This drill will test your overall endurance as well as your handgun and rifle marksmanship. This drill will consist of 600 yards of farmer carries. You will start at the 85- or 100-yard line then move to the 15-yard line. If you have to put the weight down, you will draw your handgun and put one round on the steel plate from where you dropped the weight. Once you make it to the 15-yard line you will put 5 rounds on a steel plate or 4-inch circle. Once you finish shooting you will pick the weight back up and walk back to the 85- or 100-yard line. If you have to put the weight down, you will turn around and draw your handgun and shoot one round at the steel plate from where you put the weight down. Once you make it back to the 85- or 100-yard line you will pick up your rifle and put 5 rounds on a steel plate or 6-inch circle. Finish until you’ve walked back and forth 5 times. Each rep you will fire one less round per rotation.
Please note all weights are given as the bare minimum. If you’re able to, increase the weight. Do not perform less weight than what is given above.
